Endodontics is the study of the root and surrounding tissue of your teeth. The roots of teeth are vital because if the root of a tooth is damaged then the whole tooth will die.We want your teeth to be healthy and so we do what we can to protect your roots from decay.
The most common endodntic technique is the root canal. Root canals might sound scary, but they’re really quite straightforward and virtually painless. When a root becomes affected by decay it can destroy the tooth. The tooth can be saved by opening up tooth and cleaning away the decay. The resulting hole is then filled in much like when you receive a filling. This protects the root from further decay and saves the tooth from extraction.
